Tails & Tints · Privacy Policy
Effective date: [DATE] · Applies to version 1.0 of the Android app
Tails & Tints is a puzzle game published by [ORGANIZATION] ("we"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you play.
The short version
The game has no accounts, no ads and no in-app purchases, and never asks for your name or email. To learn how people play and make the levels better, it sends anonymous gameplay statistics to our server. You can turn this off at any time in Settings, under "Share anonymous play data".
What we collect
Only while "Share anonymous play data" is on:
- How you play: when the game is opened and closed and how long you played; tutorial steps; each level you start and finish, with the time, number of moves and the helpers used (undo, hints, extra tube and others); when you get stuck or restart a level; rewards you unlock; daily gifts; photos and clips you save; and which screens you open.
- Technical details: device model, Android version, the game's version and the language your device is set to.
- A random install ID that the game creates the first time it opens. It isn't linked to your name, email, Google account, advertising ID or any hardware identifier. Reinstalling the game creates a new one.
- Your country: our hosting provider tells our server which country each upload comes from. We keep the country only. We don't store your IP address.
We don't collect your name, email, contacts, precise location, photos, advertising ID or payment details.
Why
To understand how the game is played (where players get stuck, how long levels take, whether the tutorial helps) and to improve it. We don't use this data for advertising or to build a profile of you, and we never sell it.
Where it goes and who can see it
The statistics are sent encrypted (HTTPS) to our server, hosted by Cloudflare, which processes them only on our behalf. Only we look at them. We don't share them with anyone else.
How long we keep it
Statistics are deleted automatically 13 months after we receive them.
Your choices
- Turn off "Share anonymous play data" in Settings: the game stops collecting statistics and deletes the ones still waiting on your device.
- To delete what was already sent, write to [EMAIL] with your install ID, shown in Settings under that option ("Delete my data" in Settings prepares the email for you). We delete everything linked to it within 30 days.
What stays on your device
- Your game progress, coins and settings are saved only inside the app on your device.
- When you tap "Download" on a photo or clip, the file is saved to your device's gallery. Nothing is uploaded.
- Uninstalling the app deletes everything it saved.
Permissions
The game uses internet access only to send the anonymous statistics above. It works offline: statistics wait on the device until there's a connection. It doesn't ask for your location, contacts, camera or microphone. Saving a photo or clip to your gallery uses the system's media storage, which on Android 10 and later needs no extra permission.
Third parties
Version 1.0 includes no third-party advertising, analytics or payment SDKs. Our server is hosted by Cloudflare. The game is distributed by Google Play, which handles installation and updates under Google's Privacy Policy.
Children
Tails & Tints is meant for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. The statistics contain nothing that identifies a person.
Legal basis
Where data protection laws such as the GDPR or Brazil's LGPD apply, we process these statistics on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the game, and you can object at any time by turning them off in Settings.
Changes
If we change how the game handles data, we will update this page and its effective date before that version is released. If a future version adds online content, ads or purchases, this page will list exactly what is collected, why, who receives it and how to ask for its deletion.
